| Chris is a seasoned professional in the publishing industry with more than 12 years' work experience in Hong Kong and the PRC. He now manages a portfolio of roles including Management Coach, Director of a joint venture operation in Nanjing, consultant in marketing materials, publishing and public relations. His latest responsibility is Director of Editorial Operations and Director of Asian Strategy Development, Greater China for FT.com Information Services, part of the Financial Times Group. This involves responsibility for managing a team of 6 foreign translators and ghost managing a Chinese staff of 16. The role requires close liaison with different levels of management with the Chinese partner to ensure smooth operation and minimise disputes. Chris's earlier position for 5 years was as Managing Editor for Asia Law and Practice (a Euromoney Company), writing and managing a team of 8 writers on 35 magazines and specialist books. These publications focused on multinationals doing business in China. Chris has extensive, first hand experience of life and business in China. He has been studying, working in a covering China since 1981. Chris graduated with an Honours Degree (First Class) from the University of Leeds in 1986. He studied for a year in Fudan University, Shanghai in 1983 - 4, and studied advanced Mandarin in Taipei in 1986 as a scholarship student. |
