  II. The Coaching Model
 

The OI Partners coaching model includes the following success factors:

  excellent 360° assessment tool – "Leadership Effectiveness Analysis"    (LEA)
  leadership profiling from the CEO - using the "Strategic Directions"    (SD) instrument
  in-depth personality profile – using the "Myers Briggs Type Indicator"    (MBTI®)
  scheduled coaching sessions - over a minimum of 3 months
  coaching workbooks - provided by the Management Research Group    (MRG)
 
    1. Leadership Effectiveness Analysis (LEA)
     

The LEA is part of "Strategic Leadership Development" (SLD) — the results of extensive research by MRG. See www.mrg.com. The LEA is a world-class 360° assessment instrument. In profiling the client manager, it identifies the exact areas for development.

The LEA profile measures 22 leadership behaviours in 6 clusters.
These are:
1. creating a vision
2. developing followership
3. implementing the vision
4. following through
5. achieving results
6. team playing

 
    2. Strategic Directions (SD)
      The SD is another component of the SLD model. It allows the CEO to outline his preferred leadership profile for the client manager.
       
    3. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®)
     

The MBTI® is the world's leading instrument for personality profiling. The client manager needs to develop the self-awareness (and awareness of others) which MBTI® provides. It is a key to moving forward in leadership.

    4. Scheduled Coaching Sessions
     

The early coaching sessions are face to face. Subsequent coaching is often more effective by e-mail and phone. Minimum contact time is usually 16 hours over a 12 week period. OI Partners offers maximum flexibility in pricing the coaching package so that sponsors can decide which arrangement suits their need and their budget.

 
    5. Coaching Workbooks
     

The OI Partners coach may, if appropriate, use coaching workbooks which facilitate skills development in different leadership behaviours. These may help the client manager to plan development and workplace assignments. We use world-class workbooks produced by MRG.
