The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) is a brilliant self-awareness tool. Based on the theories of Carl Jung, with continuing research and development in both personal and organisational applications, it has developed a great global reputation. Each year approximately 2,000,000 people worldwide use the instrument for greater self-awareness and professional growth. Nearly all users report stunning personal insights which lead to immediate applications in life and work. Using MBTI®, OI Partners can work with you to improve a broad range of personal and organisational competencies. We have developed 8 half day application pogrammes which can be delivered as individual modules, or as an integrated personal effectiveness programme. The 8 application programmes are: |
| 1. Understanding Self and Others | |||
| This opening module introduces the MBTI® and determines your individual type. An understanding of your MBTI® type, your unique strengths and areas for development, provides the first step in developing insights for greater effectiveness in all aspects of life. You then build on this to improve individual, team and leadership effectiveness in your organisation. | |||
| 2. Communication and Conflict Resolution | |||
| MBTI® is an exceptional tool for developing interpersonal skills. By looking at the differences between types it can identify the behavioural causes of workplace conflict. This helps you to value both your own strengths and those of different types, and to work on removing areas of conflict, and forming strategies for enhancing communication. | |||
| 3. Leadership and Personal Development | |||
Self-awareness, using MBTI®, helps you identify you "natural" leadership style. From that you understand how you interact with your people, and how you use personal leadership strengths to best effect. You then move on to develop a range of other leadership styles for different situations. |
| 4. Managing Change | |||
We live in a world of constant change, and some people are happier with it than others. By understanding your own and others' personality types, you have the key for helping people to move through change. Understanding your own response to change, and removing barriers for others, are success characteristics for truly effective change agents. |
| 5. Effective Teamworking | |||
| By knowing the different MBTI® types of your team members, you can predict the dynamics of interaction within your team. Areas of conflict can be resolved and the team can learn to work together more effectively. Knowing the "Team Type" helps you to better understand the team as a whole, and to increase its effectiveness in problem solving and decision making. | |||
| 6. Managing Self and Others | |||
| The way we manage our personal and work lives is influenced by our personality type. This affects all areas of personal effectiveness, such as communication, influencing others, how you learn, and training and coaching others. Personal organisation, including time management, is strongly determined by your MBTI type. Greater self-awareness and awareness of others helps you become more effective in managing work. | |||
| 7. Selling and Customer Services | |||
Outstanding customer service is not just about delighting clients, but about the challenge of turning every interaction into a long-term client relationship. MBTI® explains how all customers are different, and how each needs a different selling and influencing approach. This helps you build and maintain true partnerships with clients which leads better sales results. |
| 8. One-to-One Coaching | |||
Coaching your people for results, motivation, and career development is a key management skill. Understanding the MBTI® type or your people is a major step towards effective coaching. You will understand the natural strengths which shape their career choices, and the natural drives which affect motivation and performance at work. |
